Six plates are good, a seventh plate has some damage and will be given free with purchase of the six. Each plate is 6 1/4 inches. . Franciscan is a trademark of the Gladding, McBean and Co. The started making dinnerware in the 1950s. The Wedgwood Group bought the company in 1979, the U.S. Plant closed in 1984.
