Victorian Engraving Early Parlor Scene. I recently bought some early paper items from an upstate New York estate. In one of the boxes were three engravings. Obviously old, I have no idea what the came from. All three were mounted to a matt for framing. This is one of them. If I had to guess, mid to late 1800s. 5 1/2 x 8 1/4
inches. Light soiling, slight yellowing, stain at top right corner. No artist signature, date, or publisher. There is something that looks like it might be a signature on the footman's lapel, but I can't make it out. Very detailed engraved print.
$19.00 item #1137
This came from an estate in Upstate New York. I bought some mid 1800s paper, and three early prints from engravings were part of it. This is one of them. "Ennischerry. Plate 9, Engraved by W. J. Walker from an original drawing by F. Wheatley Esq. Published June 1st, 1792 by
Harrison Co. No. 18 Paternoster Row, London. I have no idea when this print was actually done, but my thinking would be mi to late 1800s. Very nice detail, and English country scene. Some soiling, a few light brown spots around the borders. it has been mounted to a mat, but I think could be
removed. 6 1/4 x 8 1/4.$22.50 item #1138
1937 Holiday Season Price List State Store Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.
Looking through this 64 page booklet I was very surprised at how brands have
changed since then. I also was surprised to see many modern brands that I know
were made back then completely absent. Names like Jim Beam, Jack Daniels, the
same is true for wines, liqueurs, and etc. 4 x 6 3/4 inches. Soiling and
staining on the cover, some yellowing of pages. Edge and corner wear. An
interesting look back toward the period after prohibition. $9.00 item #5447
