5963greenbrierpoolpc.jpg (115019 bytes) Swimming Pool, The Greenbrier, White Sulphur Springs, W. Va. This famous hotel is perhaps infamous for its role as a secret bunker complex for the Legislative branch during the Cold War. I think this card is from before the bunker was built. Every president since Ike has stayed at this hotel.  3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. Postally unused. Light soiling, light edge and corner wear. I have several copies of this card. $5.50 item #5963

It is a museum today. 1907 postmark on this postcard. Undivided back postcard, 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. Postally used. Sent by someone that was there for the boat race, their message is on the back. Must have been sent inside an envelope, though, as there is no address, stamp, or postmark. probably 1905-1909 era. Divided back postcard, 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. . Some soiling, light edge and corner wear. $9.50 item #6079

Thirteen different wonderful postcards from Tom Breneman's Restaurant which was a famous gathering place for early Hollywood celebrities and also a location of his radio show. Here are some of the celebrities shown on the postcards: Frances Scully; Tom Breneman; Sonja Henie; Uncle Corny; Mischa Auer; Carmen Miranda; Sarah Van Dyke; Eddie Cantor; John Masterson; Bobby Filipino; Jo Wilcox; Carl Webster Pierce; Bob Hope; Apparently the radio show was sponsored by Kellogg. Each card has the text shown in the last photograph and "Copr. 1945 by Kellogg Co." on it's back. Minor edge wear, very slight soiling on the back of some cards. All unsent, unwritten. Each 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. $32.00 item #925

 

  Wonderful Romantic postcard set. Very unusual to find five matching postcards this early. Each different. All mailed to the same person, from the same person. 4 mailed Warsaw, NY in November and December 1907, the last mailed Warsaw March 1908. All sent, all have 1¢ Franklin stamps. Some soiling on back, edge and corner wear. One card, the bottom left one in the top picture, has pretty bad creases in the bottom right corner. Same couple, same loveseat and vase in each postcard. Each card 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. $26.50 item #926

Each says "Only Official Post Cards of the New York Zoological park bear this imprint. Here are the nine cards: Monkey House, Concourse Entrance,Gray Squirrel, Elepahnt House, Elk Bathing, Barbary Wild Sheep Family, Rocky Mountain Goat and Shelter, Big Horn Mountain Sheep, Approach to Baird Court. The nine cards have light soiling, corner and edge wear 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. All unsent. If I had to guess at the date, I would guess 1910-1920s. $19.50 item #gg9
