Hillerich & Bradsby Co. Trademark. Very hard to read the last name, in fact I could not read parts of it, and had to do research by parts of the name, but was able to figure out who it was. 5620dugoutmedala.jpg (46697 bytes) 5620dugoutmedalb.jpg (44317 bytes) Dug-Out medal. i am not quite sure of the origin of this medal, or even if it is political. But here is my thinking on it. General Douglas McArthur was contemplating running for president against Truman in 1952, many people called for, and campaigned for him to run. He choose not to. But some folks created both pro, and anti, buttons and etc. During his military career McArthur was unfairly criticized for commanding men to do things that he didn't do, giving orders that caused men to die, while he was in safe places. Some of his critics called him "Dugout Doug".Dug-Out, maybe Doug-Out?  I think that is what this medal is, an anti McArthur medal when from when he was contemplating running for President. In good shape, but the ribbon does have a tear on the front left. I put a piece of clear tape on the back to prevent it running.
